The Power of
|
Hypnosis is a natural, familiar state of consciousness that you go in and out of many times a day. When you are recalling a pleasant memory, wondering about dinner, or are intently involved in a book, movie or daydream, you are in a state of trance or hypnosis.
Hypnotherapy is a powerful and effective tool that assists you in accessing your subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is where your memory is stored. All your experiences are recorded there. This includes beliefs and thoughts as well as experiences and sensations. Your accumulated associations and perceptions, in addition to what you have been told by your parents or other authority figures, live in your subconscious mind in the form of beliefs. These beliefs or assumptions perpetuate behaviors your conscious mind wants to change. In hypnotherapy, we work together to access your subconscious and uncover your limited beliefs. We intervene through the power of suggestion, to align what your conscious mind intends with what your subconscious mind believes. This is the combination you require for deep and lasting change. |
A Typical Hypnotherapy Session |
We start by talking about what brings you to see me and assess if Hypnotherapy is the right technique to achieve your goals. If so, we discuss what you are working on at the moment. Then, through a variety of tried-and-true relaxation and deepening techniques, I guide you into a state of hypnosis. This state is usually very relaxing and pleasant. While there, you enjoy the suspension of your critical, conscious mind. In this relaxed and very receptive state, I make suggestions to your subconscious mind that we have previously discussed and agreed upon. If you prefer, I can take you on a journey into your subconscious mind to explore the area of your life that you asked me to help you remember or understand in order to shed light on current behavior. When these intentions have been achieved, I guide you back, easily and effortlessly, to your conscious, waking state.
